Skull with its Lyric Appendage Leaning on a Bedside Table which should have the Exact Temperature of a Cardinal's Nest
When I was learning to paint, one of my first paintings was an attempt to recreate Salvador Dali’s “Skull with its Lyric Appendage Leaning on a Bedside Table which should have the Exact Temperature of a Cardinal’s Nest”. The image was always a favorite of mine and I was quite happy with my recreation. I used oil paint on a 16″ x 24″ canvas.

In 2004 my friend Joseph Burrell bought this painting from me, marking my first sale as an artist.

My Dali Painting

My painting hanging in its new home.

Ten years later, when I finally bought a drawing tablet, one of my first projects was again another Dali recreation, “Ballerina in a Death’s Head”, as a digital painting.
